What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN position at West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital?
DESCRIPTION
A. General Function: Works as part of the cardiac cath lab team to perform invasive diagnostic and interventional procedures. Cath lab call required.
B. Provides nursing care of clinic patients as directed by the Physician, and Medical Office Manager. The clinic nurse follows established clinic standards, procedures, and practices in providing optimal patient care to the community residents.
Educational Requirements:
- RN with BSN degree preferred, graduate of accredited school of nursing
- Maintains a valid RN Louisiana license
- CPR/ACLS certified
- EKG/Telemetry trained
- Available to take cardiac cath lab call 1-2 weekends per month and 1-2 days per week.
Experience Requirements:
- Cardiac cath lab/cardiology experience preferred or CCU/ICU experience preferred
Special Requirements:
- Oral and written communication skills
- Computer skills

Able to walk three miles per shift
Able to care for patients with infectious diseases
Able to administer aerosol medications
Able to assume the following positions occasionally, 0-33% of workday,
sitting, kneeling, reaching overhead. Lifting, carry, pushing 100 feet,
pulling 100 feet (25-50 lbs.).
Must be able to assume the following positions frequently 33-66% of
workday standing, walking, stooping, crouching, and lifting 0-25 lbs.
May come into contact with communicable disease, unpleasant odors and
hazardous materials.
Potential for increased stress level
Potential for exposure to: combative, violent, and abusive patient
behaviors.
