The Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency (KRESA) is a critical part of Michigan’s education system serving the Greater Kalamazoo region and provides specialized services to schools and communities and optimizes resources by centralizing innovative programs and services. We partner with school districts and the broader community to offer essential programs including early childhood education, special education, career learning, and educator development, ensuring that learners of all ages receive the support they need.
We are currently seeking SLP- Early On at KRESA West Campus in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The essential responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Perform developmental assessments for children aged 0-3
- Reinforces home-based activities designed to support a child’s optimal development through regular home visits
- Develops individualized Family Support Plan (IFSP) for family and child
- Maintains records as required by law and administrative regulations
- Use evidenced-based coaching to collaborate and teach caregivers about developmental expectations
- Collaboration with other home visiting and social service agencies to support the whole child and whole family
- Reviews student files to obtain information prior to evaluation to determine appropriate tests and to ensure that adequate information is available.
- Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
- Collaborates with local districts to develop and implement individualized plans for assigned students to meet individual needs, interests, and abilities.
- Reviews treatment plan, and assesses individual performance to modify, change, or write new programs.
- Models language facilitation techniques in home, daycare, preschool and community sites, providing training on language learning activities.
- Maintains records as required by law and administrative regulations.
- Acts as consultant to educational, medical, and other professional groups.
Qualified candidates will have a master’s degree (M.A. or M.S.) in Speech and language. Valid LARA License in Michigan required. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from American Speech, Language and Hearing Association optional.
This is an 11-month calendar position in job grade 17 with an annual rate of pay between $52,705.00 and $108,763.00.
