West Central Equipment is the John Deere Agriculture and Turf Equipment Dealership in Central and Western Pennsylvania. We sell, service and supply parts for John Deere tractors, skid steers, balers, combines, planters, mowers, utility vehicles, implements and related equipment.
The purpose of the Service Manager is to manage service operations within the John Deere dealership. The service department repairs and maintains customers' equipment, primarily John Deere equipment. The service manager maximizes return on investment by optimizing service department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction. The service manager grows profitable service labor sales and maintains expense control, and attracts, retains and leads service technicians and other department personnel. NOTE - Weekend work is Saturday mornings only . . . coverage on Saturdays is rotated among management staff.
Job Duties:
· Develops, communicates, enforces and monitors effective service department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction
· Creates annual service department goals and budget, in alignment with the organization’s financial and operational objectives
· Develops and executes service department marketing plan and monitors monthly to ensure achievement of departmental goals
· Coordinates customer clinics, field days, and related promotional events
· Submits service warranty and Product Improvement Program claims within the required timeframe to receive maximum credit
· Schedules and assigns jobs and work areas to employees in the service department according to their skills and knowledge
· Reviews work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to customer billing
· Ensures all departmental tools, equipment and vehicles are in good working order
· Manages development activities for employees reporting to this position
Qualifications:
- Excellent customer service skills
- 2 years supervisory experience
- 3 years of work experience in an equipment, automotive or truck service shop
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in tractors and mowers
- Excellent communication, planning and organizing skills
- High School Diploma; technical school degree in a related field is preferred
