Assistant Community Manager
University Student Housing, LLC, a non-profit organization that manages on-campus housing for West Chester University, is currently searching an Assistant Community Manager to join our team. The Assistant Community Manager is responsible for assisting with the property management functions of assigned communities including rent collection, front desk operations, all service functions, maintenance, and resident and campus relations.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist the Community Manager with all daily operations of assigned communities.
- Support the Community Manager with management of Community Assistants and Desk Assistants assigned to the communities.
- Assist with rent collection efforts and eviction process and maintaining the accuracy of student accounts within assigned communities.
- Aid with resident move-in and move-out processes, ensuring a seamless transition for residents and contributing to overall resident satisfaction.
- Working with Community Manager to onboard and train the Community Assistant and Desk Assistant staff.
- Monitor and ensure that the building is in excellent condition, ensuring the established maintenance schedule is followed including periodic inspections and completion of service requests.
- Assist the Community Manager as they prepare the budget for assigned communities. Provide research and back up data as needed.
- Help manage property inventories by ensuring that operations and finance receive property updates on a timely basis regarding inventory changes that occur at properties.
- Work with Community Manager and Sodexo to ensure that maintenance requests are monitored and completed in a timely manner.
- Promotes resident satisfaction and retention by responding to complaints, questions, and requests in a timely manner, and taking appropriate action to resolve and address service issues.
- Perform duties of the Community Manager in their absence.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
Qualifications
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or any equivalent combination of training and work experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and ability.
- Must demonstrate a strong customer service focus to foster cooperative relationships both internally and externally.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to clearly communicate by email, phone, or in person to obtain and deliver detailed information.
- Ability to present complex information in a form that is easily understood by various audiences.
- Adept at handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Notice, interpret, anticipate other’s concerns or feelings, and communicate this awareness empathetically to others.
- Ability to assess a situation promptly, logically and systematically, anticipate the implications and consequences and take appropriate action.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook, Teams).
- Ability to learn and use new technology.
Typical Work Conditions:
- Work is performed in an office environment as well as at residential sites.
- May work additional hours as needed.
- Frequent interruptions
- Use of personal devices (cell phone, personal computer, etc…) may be necessary on occasion to maintain business operations.
- Employee must regularly travel between communities as needed.
Typical Physical Demands:
- Regular use of hands to manipulate office tools and equipment, phones and computer keyboard.
- May lift and move office supplies up to 20 pounds.
- May stand; reach with hands and arms, stoop, and squat to file.
- Sit for extended periods.
- See to read a variety of materials.
- Hear and speak to exchange information.
- Walk interior and exterior of all communities, including steps.
We are proud to offer a competitive salary of $48,000-$58,000/year commensurate with experience and ability. This position includes a full benefit package such as paid time off, medical, dental and life insurance, and 9.29% employer contribution to retirement plan.
