The Department of Biology invites applicants for Temporary Instructor Faculty positions. The positions may begin in Spring 2025, Summer 2025, or Fall 2025 depending on department needs.

The mission of the Department of Biology, part of the College of Sciences and Mathematics, is to provide a high-quality educational experience to both undergraduate and graduate students. Virtually all courses have a laboratory component facilitating participatory learning. The Department has well-equipped facilities and a USDA approved animal facility that meets standards for NIH accreditation for the use of rats and mice. The University is home to the 126-acre Gordon Natural Area, a protected area containing grassland, forest, riparian, and wetland habitats, available for teaching and faculty research. The faculty member will teach lectures and/or laboratories in one or more undergraduate courses. Courses may include, but are not limited to:
- Introductory General Biology I and II
- Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II
- Cell Biology
The ideal candidate will use innovative teaching skills to meet the needs of the students in the department. Successful candidates will collaborate with other department faculty and staff to ensure student success.
The initial appointment will be for one semester with the possibility of renewal based on department needs. The workload is dependent on departmental need.
Responsibilities include:
- Teach courses in the Biology program. Additional courses within area(s) of specialization may be assigned based on department needs
- Provide student support
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Biology or a closely related field/discipline
- Ability to teach Biology course work
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D in Biology
