Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
- Manage incoming calls using effective phone etiquette, directing inquiries appropriately.
- Schedule appointments and maintain the calendar for medical professionals.
- Review and organize patient documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with ICD-10 coding standards.
- Provide medical administrative support, including filing, data entry, and managing patient records.
- Assist with insurance verification and processing as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure efficient patient flow within the facility.
- Handle any inquiries or concerns from patients regarding their visits or medical records.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a medical administrative role is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical coding (ICD-10) and documentation review processes.
- Proficient in using computerized systems for scheduling and record management.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on phone etiquette.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
- Previous experience in a hospital setting is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential.
