Position Overview: As a Sub-Investigator, you will work closely with Principal Investigators (PI) and the clinical research teams to ensure the smooth execution of clinical trials. You will oversee patient evaluations, ensure protocol compliance, and play a key role in maintaining the safety and well-being of trial participants. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to important advancements in medical science while working in a collaborative research environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a Sub-Investigator on clinical trials, performing medical assessments, physical exams, and reviewing patient medical histories.
- Evaluate patient eligibility based on trial protocols, ensuring inclusion/exclusion criteria are met.
- Monitor patient safety, assess adverse events (AEs) and serious adverse events (SAEs), and ensure proper documentation in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with the PI and research team to ensure accurate implementation of clinical trial protocols.
- Document clinical findings and patient progress, maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and FDA regulations.
- Review and sign off on case report forms (CRFs) and medical records.
- Provide medical guidance to the clinical research team, ensuring optimal care for study participants.
- Communicate with sponsors, regulatory agencies, and ethics committees as needed.
- Assist with patient recruitment and retention strategies.
- Perform other duties as required to support the clinical trial process.
Qualifications:
- Current Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) license, and in good standing.
- Previous experience in clinical research or healthcare (preferred).
- Strong understanding of clinical trial protocols, GCP, and FDA regulations.
- Ability to perform medical assessments and physical exams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, documentation, and record-keeping.
Skills
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
- Experience with clinical trial management software (CTMS) is preferred, not required.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Friendly, professional demeanor with excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Ability to lift 30lbs.
Work Environment: This is a full-time position that requires regular on-site attendance at West Clinical Research in Morehead City, NC. Standard workday hours are 7:45 AM - 4:45 PM on Monday through Friday, though occasional flexibility may be needed based on study schedules.
