Job Summary:
Inspects customer products to ensure products are manufactured within conformance of customer specifications; inspection includes, but is not limited to checking dimensions, tolerances, functionality, configuration, aesthetics, surface finish, or plating, and material per customer specifications and/or blueprints. Responsibility includes inspection of raw material, first articles, in process, outsourced, purchased, or modified products.
Education
College degree or comparable experience.
Experience & Training
2 years in Quality Control. Experience with ISO 9001 environment a plus.
Experienced in using visual and mechanical inspection tools (e.g. microscope, gages, micrometer, caliper, comparator, etc).
Skills & Abilities
Excellent oral and written communication skills; Must possess strong interpersonal skills to deal with people at all levels within the organization and outside; Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and engineering documentation; Strong systems and software skills - word processing, spreadsheets, computer applications; Advanced Mathematic skills; Ability to pay close attention to detail, work under pressure and meet deadlines; Ability to organize, prioritize and successfully multitask; Be adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment; Strong analytical skills; Must be very familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures for piece part, assembly and system level inspections, verifications and validations;
Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform complex mechanical dimensional and visual inspection of products including first article, in-process and final inspections per blueprints and/or other written specifications using designated inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, shore gages, digital (dial) indicators, optical comparator, ring, pin or thread gages.
Ensures that all non-conforming product is correctly identified and isolated until disposition (rework or scrap) can be determined.
Creates appropriate records of inspection activities including first article inspection reports, certifications, etc.
Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
80% sitting at desk, 20% walking/standing; Bending, lifting up to 25 lbs. rarely; Heavy contact with computers/calculators, repetitive finger/hand movement; Strenuous eye focus utilizing the computer and paperwork.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
