What are the responsibilities and job description for the Babysitter/Nanny position at West Coast Nannies?
This North Tacoma family is seeking a nanny for their happy and curious toddler, who is 2 years and 10 months old. She loves sensory play-play dough, sand, water. She enjoys being read to, coloring, cutting paper, and pretend play with toys. She is active and enjoys playing outside and riding her scooter. She can express herself verbally and has started potty training. Their older child is in first grade and will be in school during nanny hours. Their kids enjoy playtime in yard and neighborhood walk/scooter/bike rides. A typical day would include breakfast, getting dressed/changed, playtime, getting outside, activities and lunch. Their family is more go with the flow within a routine. Their daughter does well with redirection/distraction. She needs to be reminded about boundaries for safety and does well with a calm and kind approach. As parents they prioritize safety and their children being happy/content. They prefer a responsive parenting style; they want their children to feel safe and loved and develop independence from a solid base. Their kids are sweet, funny, imaginative and love to have someone to play with. The parents describe themselves as kind, open and flexible. Their ideal nanny would truly enjoy spending time with kids and would be able to think up activities/games based on kids interests and developmental stage. They would be warm, loving, fun, calm, playful, able to perceive needs, communicative, tidy, and a good driver. Experience required: 1-2 years with similar age kids, high school graduate, prefer some college or child development classes. Responsibilities include childcare, child meal prep, children’s laundry (folding putting away), and transportation.
Location: North Tacoma (near Jefferson Park)
Start Date: Tuesday, February 18th
End date: Guaranteed though mid-June (potentially summer and beyond)
Kids: 1 child (2 if older one is home from school – rare, wage would be $26/hr if 2 children)
Wage: $25/hour
Hours: Ideally: Monday 11:30AM-4:30PM, Tuesday 7:30AM-1PM, Wednesday 11:30AM-4:30PM, Thursday 7:30AM- 1PM and Friday 7:30AM -1PM (approx. 25hours/week, plus occasional evening and weekend if available)
Benefits: guaranteed hours, paid time off
Nanny Vehicle/Driving required: Yes, driving required.
Pets: Yes, one dog (4-year-old mini-Bull Terrier)
