What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full-time Nanny Position position at West Coast Nannies?
This Mercer Island family is seeking a nanny for their two children, a 1 month old and a 2.5 year old. Their toddler is at preschool weekdays, 8:30AM-5PM, so care is primarily focused on the baby. Their 2.5 year old can be energetic and chatty, but overall, he’s more of a thinker and art-lover. So far, their baby has been pretty easy. They’re both good sleepers. Their household culture is generally quiet, introverted and go-with-the-flow. Their priorities as a parent: challenging the kids at the right level, enough so that they’ll learn new skills while still being mindful of their energy/capabilities, so the kids don’t get over tired or stressed out. Their ideal nanny is a tidy, detail-oriented professional who’s communicative and appreciates flexibility, both for her own schedule and for theirs. Someone with a warm disposition to balance the parents, who are generally introverted and quiet is ideal. In addition, a bilingual Mandarin Chinese speaker is a big perk for them. This position is full-time. In an ideal world, the schedule would be some longer weekdays, plus help on weekends - totaling 40hrs/week, but this is flexible (working 5 days/week). Their goal is to find a good nanny fit and then work around their schedule. Both parents work from home (mom returns to work from maternity leave March 1st). They would consider a nanny who brings a child. Nanny must be a non-smoker and live in a non-smoking household. Note: The family is currently in a Mercer Island house rental, but their lease is up June 2025 and there’s a good chance they’ll move (looking at Eastside or Laurelhurst, depending on market).
Responsibilities include childcare, child meal prep, and transportation. Nice to have responsibilities: laundry and light housekeeping.
