Roll Forming Machine Operator

Position Overview:
The Roll Forming Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining roll forming machines used to produce metal components and products according to specifications. This role requires a strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to troubleshoot equipment to ensure efficient operation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Machine Setup and Operation:
• Set up roll forming machines according to specifications, including adjusting rollers, guides, and stops.
• Load metal coils or sheets into the machine and ensure proper alignment.
• Operate the machines to produce components to meet quality and dimensional requirements.
• Quality Assurance:
• Inspect finished products for defects, ensuring they meet dimensional tolerances and quality standards.
• Perform routine checks using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
• Perform routine maintenance on roll-forming equipment to ensure peak performance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot machine malfunctions and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
• Report equipment issues to maintenance or management as needed.
• Safety Compliance:
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Identify and mitigate potential hazards during machine operation.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Record production data, including quantities, dimensions, and any deviations from specifications.
• Maintain logs of machine performance and maintenance activities.
• Collaboration:
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, quality control teams, and other operators to ensure smooth production flow.
• Assist with training new operators as required.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Previous experience operating roll forming machines or similar equipment preferred, but not needed.
• Technical Skills:
• Familiarity with roll-forming processes and tools, or similar equipment.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods.
• Capacity to lift objects weighing up to 75lbs.
