Position Description
As a Behavioral Health Technician you will be instrumental in delivering compassionate client care and supporting individuals with behavioral health needs. Reporting to the Director of Operations, your role will require excellent interpersonal skills, strong professional and personal boundaries, and the ability to work effectively alongside changing deadlines. Proficiency in EMR systems preferred. Must be able to communicate while remaining professional, culturally sensitive and respectful.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Transportation: Transport clients to and from medical facilities. Must have valid driver's license
- Organize Medical Follow-up Appointments: Act as main point of contact for facilitating weekly follow up appointments. Forward medication refill requests to nursing staff. Track who needs to see the medical provider and create a schedule for those appointments.
- Emergency Telehealth Appointments: Act as the main point of contact for facilitating urgent Telehealth appointments. Coordinate scheduling and ensure timely communication of outcome to staff.
- Medical Information Communication: Effectively communicate important medical information between providers and clinic staff. Ensure accurate and timely transfer of vital patient data and test results.
- Prescription Acquisition Issues: Coordinate with providers, clients, and pharmacies to resolve prescription pick up issues.
- Operations Support: Assist with day-to-day tasks and operations as needed. This includes updating schedules on whiteboards, general upkeep of the clinic including cleanliness, resetting group room chairs, and ensuring supplies are stocked.
- New Admissions Orientations: Support the admissions team with new admission tasks, including conducting orientations for new clients and assistance in entering medications into the EMR.
Requirements:
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic Excel skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in behavioral health
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems
