Position Description:

Job Title: Trainer Department: HR & Organizational Development

Reports to: AVP of Organizational Development & Learning Classification: Exempt

Job Summary:

The Trainer is responsible for assisting in planning, scheduling, developing, and implementing training activities across the Credit Union. They identify training needs both in branches and classrooms, and respond by designing support materials such as audio-visual aids, computer presentations, manuals, workbooks, and scripts. Additionally, they provide feedback during and after training sessions, maintain training library resources, and distribute materials to managers, personnel, and volunteers as needed. The trainer updates and develops new training programs to meet current needs, assists in preparing the Training and Development budget, and coordinates library resources to align with the Credit Union’s objectives and goals. Furthermore, the trainer will support the planning and implementation of large training events and meetings.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Credit Union Knowledge and Compliance

  • Maintains thorough knowledge of Credit Union philosophy, products, and services.
  • Ensures operations comply with Credit Union policies and legal/regulatory requirements.
  • Implements changes to policies and procedures as needed.
  • Understands branch functions, policies, procedures, and the Credit Union’s field of membership.
  • Assigns and tracks all compliance related training and reporting requirements

Training Policy and Program Development

  • Develops and implements effective training policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Evaluates and identifies training and development needs, programs, and services, providing recommendations for improvements.
  • Designs and develops training procedures and programs, coordinating the preparation of audio-visual aids, training manuals, scripts, and workbooks.
  • Executes established training plans, ensuring alignment with Credit Union goals.
  • Assists in preparing the Training and Development budget and maintains a training resources library and related audio-visual equipment.
  • Coordinates, schedules, and directs training activities.

Training Implementation and Effectiveness

  • Ensures Credit Union personnel are well-trained and effective in their positions.
  • Assists in ensuring employee orientation, on-the-job training programs, and in-service activities are effective and appropriate.
  • Completes training functions in accordance with established programs and procedures.
  • Writes and prepares training articles and stays current on training programs and procedures.

Communication and Support

  • Answers questions and assists with problems, conveying and clarifying new policies and procedures while acting as a resource consultant for staff.
  • Ensures professional business relations with members, volunteers, vendors, and trade professionals.
  • Represents the Credit Union in contact with consultants and trade professionals, ensuring courteous and professional resolution of requests, questions, and problems.
  • Maintains efficient and effective communications, upholding the Credit Union’s professional reputation internally and externally.
  • Establishes and maintains effective communication and coordination with Credit Union personnel and management, keeping the VP of Organizational Strategy and Performance informed of training activities and significant problems.

Administration and Reporting

  • Completes required reports, records, and other documentation.
  • Attends and participates in meetings and committees as required.
  • Assumes other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and experience.
  • Four to Ten years’ experience in training related positions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Talking: Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Average Hearing: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
  • Repetitive Motion: Movements frequently and regularly require using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Average Visual Abilities: Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products or operate machinery.
  • Physical Strength: Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year

Salary : $50,000 - $65,000
