Champlain Insurance Group is a fast-growing, specialty, surplus and excess lines insurance enterprise. Which, through our affiliates, Champlain Specialty Insurance Company, WestCongress Insurance Services LLC, and WestCongress Risk Services LLC, offers primary and excess general liability insurance solutions and claims administration throughout the United States. We have an exciting opportunity for Key Account Executives to join our growing team!
The Key Account Executive will work with Brokers to select, price and determine terms and conditions for writing commercial General Liability and Excess products in the Excess & Surplus market. This role will serve as a dynamic thought partner and innovative leader, based on their broad understanding of the business, its progress, and its current needs. The Key Account Executives are separate and distinct from our normal Account Executives. Internally, they are referred to as the "Presidents Club" Account Executives. These folks are writing roughly 10M in new business yearly.
The successful candidate will manage multiple priorities, take initiative, lead the conversation and explore new frontiers. This position can be remote with the expectation of being in-office for quarterly (and other) meetings.
Responsibilities:
Review and analyze insurance risks, loss history and inspections reports.
Evaluate information presented to identify exposures and solicit additional information to base decision to accept or decline according to company policies and objectives.
Classify risk for policy rating.
Clearly document the underwriting decision-making strategy.
Maintain and develop relationships with brokers to achieve growth and profit objectives.
Collaborate with marketing and claims and other cross-functional teams.
Develop, grow, and maintain a profitable book of business.
Effectively manage a pipeline of new/renewal business accounts.
Manage tasks related to the evaluation, binding, issuance, and modification of the insurance products we offer.
Requirements:
8 years’ experience in the E&S marketspace.
Ability to bring in roughly 10M in New Business annually
Bachelor’s degree in related field
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Possess problem solving and time management skills
Highly organized and detail oriented.
Self-motivated and goal oriented
Solid computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel and other computer software & systems. Experience with ImageRight is a plus.
Ability to work outside area of responsibility to support the growth of the business.
