What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education - Adapted Physical Education (APE) - Itinerant - Starting School Year position at West Contra Costa USD - Richmond?
To teach students with Special Education (non-severly handicapped) needs in a public school setting. Develop Individualized Education pPogram (IEP) for each student in conjunction with the IEP Team, and follow curriculum guidelines or requirements of state and school. Plan and implement the IEP program to include academic requirements as well as social and emotional competencies. Work to expand curriculum and classroom opportunities of students by assisting school staff to interpret abilities and utilizing broader curriculum to extent feasible. Create an effective environment for learning and monitor and supervise activities. Develop system of classroom records regarding student progress, parent contact, instructional supplies, and participate in school administrative meetings, and relevant educational conferences. Position requires BA and 3 years of relevant experience.
