Title: Bookkeeping Assistant/Reception
Reports To: Director of Finance
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Classification: Full time 40 hours per week
Wage: $23.00 to $26.00 per hour DOE
Location: Guerneville, CA
Summary
West County Community Services, a non-profit agency, is seeking a Bookkeeping Assistant to provide support for the Finance Department. Under the general direction of the Bookkeeper & Finance Director, the Bookkeeping Assistant will aid the Finance team in achieving operational excellence. Qualified candidates possess strong organizational, accounting, and computer skills. Knowledge and experience with Sage Intaact are ideal. The Bookkeeping Assistant will also answer calls and greet/direct visitors in the reception area. Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.
Essential Functions
· Assist in the Accounts Payable process (i.e. review vouchers, invoices, and checks for accuracy, data entry, and disburse checks after obtaining appropriate approval)
· Compile documentation to assist the Accounting department with both internal and external audits
· Assist in Accounts Receivable management and invoice preparation
· Promptly research and resolve discrepancies
· Compile and prepare routine reports and summaries

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient in Excel and Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Solid knowledge of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processing
- Ability to comprehend and write correspondence and memos
- The ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Skilled at solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exist
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, or schedule formats
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred
- Additional duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
· 3-5 years of related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience
· Sage Intaact experience a plus
· Solid knowledge of accounting principles
· A self-starter that is detail oriented, organized, and tech savvy
· Ability to multi-task and work independently
· Reliable transportation
· Satisfactory background check
Physical Requirements
Traverse – Regularly move about the office to collect office supplies and documents; meet with team members in designated areas; some kneeling and bending
Communicate and Interact - Exchange information and provide information in person and via virtual group meetings (Zoom)
Detect, identify – Frequently reviews hard copy documents, emails
Stationary position – Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 70% of the time
Operate, Draft, Write, Compile – Consistently uses a computer to research, document, communicate
Transport - Occasionally lifts up to 20 lbs., carrying office supplies
