What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cosmetic Medical Assistant (41368) position at West Dermatology?
Fulfill responsibilities as assigned by providers and management.
Assist busy Dermatology & Cosmetic practice with pre and post procedure Dermatology and Cosmetic treatments, including skin cancer reconstructions, acne treatments, biopsies, treatment of warts and rashes, suture removals, and cosmetic injectables (Botox, Fillers).
Escort patient to and from exam room, help patient prepare for exam.
Enter medical histories and prescriptions into EMR.
Assist physician during exam/procedure in providing quality care to patients.
Scribe office visit.
Prepare and collect path/lab specimens, notify patients of results and schedule follow up appointments.
Educate patients and respond to patient questions in office/on phone as needed
Document all medical instructions given to patients.
Clean and organize exam rooms, prepare procedure trays, clean and autoclave instruments, and stock supplies.
Qualifications
Certification Preferred (i.e., Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Dermatology Technician, etc.)
Minimum two years experience in a clinical setting
Prior dermatology and cosmetic experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge of medical dermatology terms/CPT, ICD-10
Knowledge of cosmetic products, procedures, and terminology

Able to prioritize tasks, understand the providers instructions, and know when to seek information or advice.
