- Works with military leaves to ensure all paperwork and processing is completed accurately and effectively.
- Utilizes external partnerships for managing disability accommodations.
- Partners with Workforce Safety Insurance (WSI) to ensure the district receives applicable program discounts.
- Partners with appropriate administrators and staff regarding incident and issue reporting and provides recommendations for corrective actions.
- Assists claims coordinators with all safety-related claims that elevate beyond simple processing to include time loss, concerns with return to work, etc.
- Assists with coordination and volunteering at WFPS events (bonanzas, building and district events, etc.)

- Presents information on leaves and WSI for new staff.

- Uploads leaves into HR payroll systems for each pay period for teachers, administrators, and professional staff.
- Manages adding leave balances to all staff groups into HR systems.
- Processes disability accommodation requests.
- Communicate with employees and administrators regarding disability accommodation requests.
- Manages the district’s safety management program and serves as the district's safety coordinator.
- Maintains the safety management program and additional supporting programs.
- Completes the WFPS volunteer coverage data annually.
- Assists with staff orientations as needed.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Management, or directly related field.
- 2 years of experience in human resources with direct experience in leave administration, safety program management, disability accommodations, and/or supervisory responsibilities.
- PHR and/or SHRM-CP preferred.
- Previous employment in a school setting is preferred.
- Experience with TylerTech – Infinite Visions is preferred.
- Experience with Frontline Education Recruiting & Hiring and Absence Management is preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondences in the English language.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally, expressively, and reactively.
- Exercise confidentiality, discretion, and good judgement.
- Adhere to the assigned work schedule by maintaining regular and punctual attendance.

SUMMARY: The Leaves Manager is responsible for the overall administration and coordination of the leave processes and functions of the West Fargo Public School district including family medical leaves, requests for unpaid personal leave, leaves of absence, disability accommodations, and other long-term and mid-term leave requests. The Leaves Manager will oversee and support the district’s safety management plan. The Leaves Manager also serves as a resource to administration across the district in areas of leave and safety program management by advising and assisting in making decisions that balance the needs of the organization with the needs of the employees while following applicable district policies, practices, and laws.
