Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing safe and reliable transportation services, particularly for young people. Duties
- Safely operate a bus or paratransit vehicle, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Provide transportation services to students, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the journey.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, including those with mobility challenges as needed.
- Communicate effectively with passengers, staff, and dispatch to relay important information regarding schedules and routes.
- Manage passenger behavior during transit, ensuring a respectful and safe environment for all riders.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, including mileage, passenger counts, and any incidents that may occur.
- Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition; report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Demonstrate multilingual communication skills when necessary to assist diverse passenger populations.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for bus driving. (We are willing to offer reimbursements for CDL)
- Previous experience in bus driving or paratransit services is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate effectively with passengers of all ages and backgrounds.
- Experience in behavior management techniques is preferred to handle various passenger needs effectively.
- Mechanical knowledge is a plus for performing basic vehicle maintenance checks.
- Ability to write clear reports regarding incidents or vehicle conditions as needed.

Pay: $39.88 - $88.99 per day
Expected hours: 10 – 30 per week
