Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team at West Fraser.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, installing, and maintaining electrical systems in our industrial setting. This includes testing and inspecting electrical systems, troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and installing electrical equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement electrical systems that meet industry standards and safety regulations
- Test and inspect electrical systems to identify potential hazards and defects
- Troubleshoot and repair PLCs and other electrical equipment
- Install new electrical equipment and modify existing systems as needed
Requirements
- 4-5 years of experience in an industrial environment with a strong emphasis on safety
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred
- Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, and be on-call to support 24/7 operations
- Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLC5, ControlLogix 5000, and Panelviews
- Experience with Scanning and Optimization systems within the Lumber Business (Porter, USNR)
