Job Summary
We are seeking an entry-level lumberyard employee to perform various duties including housekeeping, painting, and equipment operation. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment and be willing to learn and adapt to new situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by performing housekeeping duties and operating equipment according to procedures.
- Monitor lumber movement and clear jammed lumber as necessary.
- Assist others with tasks and perform quality checks on equipment.
- Operate necessary equipment such as pike pole or picaroon for removing cross-ups.
- Perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and assist with servicing of other equipment.
- Document and report results of inspections and maintenance activities.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Excellent safety record and ability to follow all safety criteria.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and diagnose problems within the department.
- Able to maintain or assist with maintaining the assigned area and/or related equipment.
