Job Opportunity:
West Fraser is seeking a Plant Operations Manager to oversee the maintenance and repair of electrical and electronic equipment, apparatus, and fixtures plant where heavy manufacturing equipment is used in the production of OSB Lumber.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise a team of maintenance personnel to ensure effective and efficient completion of maintenance and repair tasks.
- Oversee the installation, testing, and operation of new electrical and electronic equipment and electrical wiring according to the National Electrical Code and company electrical standards.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and plans to ensure the optimal performance and reliability of electrical and electronic systems.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental laws and regulations.
- Perform high voltage switching and operate generators in support of operations.
- Responsible for station Lockout/Tagout procedures as mandated by company policy.
- Work safely and cooperatively with co-workers, supervisors, and outside contractors.
Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in plant operations and maintenance, preferably in the wood products industry.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, including principles of electronic theory and circuit analysis.
- Excellent leadership and supervisory skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate clearly with stakeholders.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- AA Degree preferred.
