Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Forklift Operator to join our team at West Fraser's Maplesville, Alabama facility. As a key member of our Kiln Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading kilns using a forklift
- Assisting in the greasing of kiln motors and cars
- Checking kiln fans for rotation
- Operating computer systems at kilns
- Providing assistance to electrical/mechanical personnel with work in the kiln area
- Documenting problems and communicating with maintenance personnel daily
- Firing boiler in a safe manner
- Becoming knowledgeable of boiler controls and their purpose
Requirements:
- A minimum of six months' experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Ability to work in a hot, cold, dusty, and noisy industrial environment
- Ability to bend, twist, lift, climb, stand throughout the duration of the shift
- Ability to work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends
