What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Support Advocate position at West Harlem Head Start?
The Family Support Advocate recognizes parents as their children’s primary teachers and nurturers and implements intentional strategies to engage parents in their children’s learning and development and support parent-child relationships, including specific strategies for father engagement.
The Family Support Advocate collaborates with families in a family partnership process that identifies needs, interests, strengths, goals, and services and resources that support family well-being, including family safety, health, and economic stability.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Social Work/Human Services/Psychology
- Enrolled in a program leading towards a BA Degree in Social Work/Human Services
- One year or more experience working in an early childhood or elementary setting preferably with parents
