West Hartford Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Track & Field Coach at Hall High School for the 2024-25 season. The ideal candidate will have an interest in sprints, hurdles, and/or pole vaults.
Qualifications:
Valid Connecticut coaching certification.
Updated first aid/CPR training approved by the Connecticut State Department of Education.
Completion of Module 15 – Concussion Management
Previous coaching experience in assigned sport
Has substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport
Reports to: The head coach, who provides a final evaluation to the athletic director
Primary Functions: To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success while at the same time helping the athlete to achieve an increased level of self-esteem, an appreciation for the values of sportsmanship and discipline.
Major Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for implementing the aims and objectives of the sports program as outlined by the head coach and school administration. Will instruct athletes in the skills needed to realize a degree of individual and team success; includes instruction in individual and team fundamentals, strategy, and physical training.
