Qualifications
- Strong math background and understanding of student-centered learning in a mathematics classroom
- All candidates must possess a current appropriate Connecticut teaching certification with Mathematics endorsement (029) or be immediately eligible
- Interest in teaching a variety of math courses as well as expertise or interest in teaching statistics and / or computer science courses

The teacher is responsible for performing the related responsibilities necessary to help pupils develop skills, attitude, and knowledge that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible citizens.
WHPS Teachers : Duties and Responsibilities :
Creating / maintaining a positive learning environment
Provides a safe physical environment
Establishes classroom routines
Planning Instruction
Develops instructional goals and objectives
Communicates purpose of lesson
Assessing and evaluating student progress
Maintains records
Confers with parents / caregivers and students
Illustrative of such duties are :
Be available to students and parents / caregivers;
Continues to grow professionally through reading, research, conferring with colleagues and attendance at inservice activities
