Job Description:
This position involves various responsibilities, including animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in veterinary procedures and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you will need to possess excellent client communication and medical record management skills, comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations, expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques, proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens, experience in radiographic positioning and image capture, and a commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning. Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts are also essential. Availability to work some weekends may be required.
