Position Overview: Iowa City West High School is seeking a Brass Specialist to join our Marching Band team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in brass performance with the ability to instruct and motivate high school brass players. This position will work closely with the band directors and other technicians to ensure the highest level of musical and performance excellence. Band camp dates are the mornings of August 11-15. Daily rehearsals are from 8:50-10:30am once school begins on August 25.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide specialized brass instruction to high school students in a marching band setting.

Teach brass techniques including embouchure, tone production, breathing, articulation, and marching fundamentals.

Work with students individually and in small groups to refine musical skills and improve overall performance.

Offer constructive feedback during rehearsals to help students achieve their personal and group goals.

Support a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel motivated and encouraged to reach their full potential.

Maintain communication with the band directors regarding student progress and any concerns related to the brass section.
Qualifications:

A strong background in brass performance, with proficiency in at least one brass instrument.
