Ace Hardware has been rooted in the Greater Lafayette, Indiana community and has been a locally-owned, family run business since 1936. Today, the Lafayette and West Lafayette Ace Hardware stores are owned by the third generation of family run Ace Hardware Retailers. The original Ace Hardware location was located on Main Street in downtown Lafayette. The West Lafayette location was opened in 1985 to better serve the West Lafayette Community. General Summary
The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for register transactions involving the sale and/or return of merchandise.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities for this position include:
· We pride ourselves on our outstanding customer service, and Retail Sales Associates must provide exceptional customer service our customers have come to expect.
· Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements
· Execute the daily operational, day-to-day goals and priorities assigned by store management
· Aid customers in locating merchandise in store and provide information and suggestions regarding the merchandise
· Lead associate team to accomplish store goals
· Actively participate in daily huddle meetings
· Participate in the processing of new shipments and help the team to keep the receiving and back stock area clean and organized
Education/Training
High School or GED equivalent.
Experience
Retail sales experience preferred. Customer service experience preferred.
Physical Demands
Standing, walking, lifting (up to 40lbs) and climbing.
