Job Summary
Cleans, polishes and sanitizes spaces including lobbies, hallways, activity rooms, dining room, restrooms, etc. in a timely, effective, and efficient manner. Cleans residents’ apartments on a weekly basis or as needed. Courtesy and friendliness to residents and guests is always expected.
Essential Functions
- Cleans carpets or floors including vacuuming, shampooing, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting. Properly sets up appropriate safety or caution signs as needed.
- Removes dirt and dust from surfaces using proper cleaning or disinfecting solutions. Handles hazardous supplies according to procedures and ensures accurate labeling.
- Cleans public restrooms by washing, sanitizing or polishing fixtures ensuring that watermarks are removed.
- Visits assigned residences to perform basic cleaning of bathroom fixtures and floors. Wipes surfaces in kitchen ensuring that appliances are clean. Vacuums and feather dusts surfaces in apartment, avoiding disturbing resident’s belongings and respecting privacy. Removes linens from bed and returns to resident for cleaning. Makes beds with clean linens according to resident’s preferences. Logs cleaning activities as required.
- Interacts with residents in a friendly manner and communicates health concerns to management as needed.
- Attends and participates in in-service educational classes, on the job training programs, etc., as scheduled or directed.
- Responds appropriately to resident emergencies by calling or contacting appropriate internal and external parties, according to established protocol. May also assist with disaster management efforts and activities during evacuations for fires, hurricanes, etc.

Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED required. Prior housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
Has an overall understanding of the work environment and process. Has working knowledge of the organization.
Respects the privacy of residents and refrains from discussing their personal situations.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $13.63 - $15.50 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 32 per week
