Job Summary: Provides direct care to residents following an individual service plan. Provides medication to residents in a timely manner. Treats each resident with respect and dignity.
Job Description:
- Accurately and safely prepare, administer, and document all medications used in the Health Campus.
- Verify that any medications brought into the health campus by a newly admitted resident are examined and identified by the attending physician.
- Ensure that all medications administered are properly labeled.
- Perform medication charting as directed by the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse.
- Follow health campus policies and procedures regarding the destroying of medications.
- Accurately measure, record, and report the vital signs of residents.
- Observe and verify that medication is ingested or applied as directed.
- Promptly notify the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse or the Director of Nursing of any errors or reactions to medications by residents.
- Follow established guidelines concerning the storage of drugs.
- Assisting the nurses on the floor as needed.
- Complete progress notes/chart by exception (behaviors, unusual occurrences)

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required. Three to six months of related experience/ training preferred. Knowledge of your abilities and limitations as a QMA. Certified as a Qualified Medication Aide.
Management/ Decision Making:
Makes decisions based on detailed guidelines with limited independent judgement, referring issues to supervisor as needed.
Knowledge and Skills:
Can follow written/ verbal instructions. Possesses a thorough understanding of the organization and work environment. Ability to communicate in English. Uses good judgement in emergency situations and seeks assistance when needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.50 - $23.50 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 32 per week
