BAND TEACHER
REPORTS TO: Intermediate & Junior-Senior High School Administration
PAY TYPE: Contract, Non-Supervisory
PAY RATE: Based upon the WLCSC Master Teacher Contract (see attachment)
BENEFITS: Eligible (see attachment)
SCHEDULE: 183 Days; Follows school calendar

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with fellow music instructors in planning and teaching 5th through 12 grade instrumental music classes
- Plan and implement concerts annually and support ISSMA events
- Maintain consistent and effective communication with students, parents, and staff regarding academic progress, performances, and events via various platforms
- Lead and contribute to extracurricular band programs, including summer band programs, with provided stipends
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- Education, Training, and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree (minimum)
- Valid Indiana Secondary Teacher’s License in Music Education or pending licensure
- Displays excellent communication skills and professional demeanor
- Experience working in a school environment preferred
- Experience leading a performance rehearsal (please attach video proof to your Frontline application; 4-10 minutes in length)
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:
- Displays positive and enthusiastic attitude
- Ability to work as a team with other staff
- Ability to work collaboratively with a dynamic and diverse educational community
- Experience with blended, project-based teaching methodologies and technology-based instruction
- Displays dependability and punctuality
- Preferred willingness to sponsor an extracurricular group/team
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Position works indoors in a typical school classroom environment
- May work near others, often within a few feet
- May occasionally be exposed to noise levels that are distracting
