Position Summary
The Outside Services Supervisor is responsible for supervising the daily outside services activities related to the staging, preparation, retrieval, maintenance, and storage of all equipment used during daily golf operations. He/she is also responsible for assisting in training and scheduling of all outside operations staff; set-up, stocking and maintenance of the golf practice areas and ensuring delivery of exceptional service to members and guests.
Position Functions And Duties
Work is performed in an outdoor setting. Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Varied outside weather conditions are expected with exposure to heat/humidity, or cool/cold weather. Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level is usually moderate to loud.

The Outside Services Supervisor is responsible for supervising the daily outside services activities related to the staging, preparation, retrieval, maintenance, and storage of all equipment used during daily golf operations. He/she is also responsible for assisting in training and scheduling of all outside operations staff; set-up, stocking and maintenance of the golf practice areas and ensuring delivery of exceptional service to members and guests.
Position Functions And Duties
- Assists the Head Golf Professional and/or Director of Golf to ensure the Outside Services operations and activities are aligned with the departmental goals.
- Greet all members and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
- Ensure members and guests have an enjoyable day at the club when they visit.
- Maintain regular, dependable attendance and punctuality and ensure the same of staff.
- Administer policies, procedures, and standards for outside services operations.
- Comply with the Club’s standards, policies and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations and ensure the same of staff.
- Ensure staff maintain high standards of professional appearance and grooming, which include wearing proper attire and a name tag when working.
- Train service employees in their assigned duties.
- Coach and counsel outside service staff when necessary and with Guidance from the Director of Golf or Head Golf Professional. Prepare schedules and monitor performance regularly. Ensure the club’s high standards of service and quality are met/exceeded.
- Train staff to recognize members not dressed properly for the use of the course or practice area and relay the information to the Golf Pro shop staff.
- Manage the completion of Outside Services daily checklist including bag handling services, golf cart management and driving range operations.
- Manage and maintain inventories for all outside services equipment including golf cart fleet and their maintenance records.
- Alert Golf Professionals/Assistant Golf Professionals when members or guests add or remove bags from club storage.
- Inspect the quality of work, club and bag carts and practice balls cleaning.
- Remain alert to the weather or approaching inclement weather.
- Report any damage, broken, or misused equipment to the Golf Pro/Assistant Pro as soon as possible; record the damage and by whom.
- Respond to inquiries and/or concerns from members, guests, vendors, or staff and initiate problem-solving procedures when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Attend staff meetings as deemed necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- 2-year college degree preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Requires basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge and understanding of typical golf course procedures and etiquette.
- Knowledgeable about all upcoming club events.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to lead.
- Demonstrated results oriented and capable of working in a minimal direction and independently.
- Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
- Able to perform all positions within outside service operations.
- Excellent team player with ability to work hands on in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform the required role in emergency situations.
- Requires frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, and pulling.
- Continuous walking and standing.
- Requires ability to safely lift items up to 30 pounds.
- Frequent repetitive motions.
- Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
- Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
- Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
