Anticipated Middle School Special Education Strategist II
The West Liberty Community School District is seeking a Middle School Special Education Teacher Strategist II for the 2025-2026 school year.
Must have Instructional Strategist II: Mild/Moderate, or Instructional Strategist II: BD/LD, or willing and able to obtain.
QUALIFICATIONS:
5-8 Iowa teaching license required or ability to obtain
Must believe that all students can learn
Must possess a collaborative nature
Must understand the importance of culture in a middle school and its effect on academics
Must be an innovative, passionate, and energetic individual
Successful prior teaching experience at the middle school level preferred but not required
Successful experience working with diverse learners including Special Education and ESL preferred
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Plans a program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of students
Maintains all records for students, building, district, and state requirements
Creates a climate that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students
Employs methods and materials that are appropriate for meeting stated objectives
Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports
Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required
Develop and maintain an effective level of communication with appropriate personnel
Strives to maintain and improve professional competence
Works collaboratively with content area/grade level teams
