The West Liberty Community School District is seeking a full time High School Social Studies teacher for the 2025/2026 School Year
QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid 9-12 Iowa teaching license required
Preferred certification in Iowa as 9-12 All Social Studies
Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
Must possess a collaborative nature
Must be an innovative, passionate, and energetic individual
Successful prior teaching experience at the high school level preferred but not required
Successful experience working with diverse learners including Special Education and ESL
Proficiency in utilizing technology to enhance instruction.
Ability to create and implement differentiated instruction strategies.
Commitment to fostering critical thinking and civic engagement among students.
Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire students.
Experience with project-based learning and inquiry-based instruction is a plus.
Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and administrators.
Knowledge of current events and social issues.

Maintains accurate records of student progress and communicates effectively with parents/guardians.
Contributes to the overall success of the social studies department and school community.
