Instructional Coordinator - Inza Wood Middle School


Candidates bilingual in Spanish preferred.


The start date for this position is 8/22/2023 for the 2023-2024 school year.

Position Description:

The Instructional Coordinator partners with the principal and assistant principal to coordinate staff learning and implementation of curriculum, the effective use of data, and continuous instructional improvement within the school. As part of the school leadership team, the Instructional Coordinator guides school-wide work with climate, culture, and restorative practices and is part of supporting students’ behavior and participation in school. The Instructional Coordinator collaborates with other district ICs and leaders to develop and implement initiatives to improve students’ learning and school experience.


Responsibilities Include:

Serve as a member of the building leadership team.
Model and work alongside staff to center all teaching and learning around equity and inclusive practices.

Coordinate ongoing grade level and subject area professional learning.

Model effective problem-solving to increase students’ positive and productive participation in school.

Collaborate with school leaders and staff to develop plans for students’ success in school.

Coordinate the implementation of curriculum.

Coordinate the building's curriculum and instruction efforts with those of other Instructional Coordinators and district curriculum leaders.

Coordinate the screening for, identification of, and service for gifted students.



Qualifications:

Knowledge and regular use of best practices in teaching;

Masters Degree required;

Oregon teaching license in assigned area(s) and proper endorsements;
