Our busy ophthalmology practice is looking for a Full Time Medical Front Desk team member to work between our Buffalo and Monticello offices. JOB SUMMARY
Greet and welcome patients and guests into our practice. Our medical front desk team is the face of West Metro Eye and must exhibit professionalism and warm demeanor towards patients, peers and business associates. Prioritize patient care, communicate patient expectations. Facilitate check-in and check-out processes, answer incoming calls, and assist with patient referrals. Assist with medical administrative support tasks.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
1. High School Diploma or GED
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Preferred experience working in medical office setting, 1 year.
2. Preferred experience working in patient scheduling software, 1 year.
3. Preferred experience in customer service, 2 years.

RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Maintains a high standard of professionalism, quality of work, and honesty.
2. Adheres to all West Metro Ophthalmology policies and procedures.
3. Prioritize patient care and manage potential crisis.
4. Complete and maintain accurate and concise documentation into patient medical records; including but not limited to demographics, identification, insurance information and appropriate signatures for required forms.
5. Scheduling appointments per WMO procedures and policies.
6. Prep daily schedules and charts per WMO procedure.
7. Prioritize incoming and outgoing phone calls in a timely, friendly, and knowledgeable manner.
8. Triage phone calls, take concise messages and direct calls to the appropriate person or department.
9. Collect out pocket fees per WMO guidelines.
10. Monitors and tracks diagnostic test orders or labs.
11. Assists in communication and education of important information to patients.
12. Completes opening and closing procedures as outlined by WMO policy and procedure.
13. Assists in ordering of office supplies and reconciliation of invoices and statements.
14. Maintains a clean and tidy workspace and patent waiting area.
15. Ensure medical record requests are processed in a timely manner and ensuring patient rights to privacy practices and HIPAA compliance.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Can work in close physical proximity to other people constantly
2. Ability to stand and/or walk 25% - 50% of the time
3. Ability to sit up to 75% of the time
4. Ability to lift up to 10#’s regularly
