Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care:
· Greet and escort patients to exam rooms.
· Record patient medical history, vital signs, and chief complaints accurately.
· Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
· Prepare and administer vaccinations as directed by healthcare providers.
· Provide patient education and instructions as needed.
2. Administrative Duties:
· Schedule patient appointments and follow-up visits.
· Maintain electronic health records (EHR) accurately and confidentially.
· Verify patient insurance coverage and process billing information.
· Handle phone calls, inquiries, and requests professionally and efficiently.
· Manage inventory of medical supplies.
3. Clinical Support:
· Perform basic laboratory tests such as blood draws, urine analysis, and EKG’s.
· Prepare and sterilize medical instruments and equipment.
· Ensure cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and clinical areas.
· Assist in minor surgical procedures and wound care.
· Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards.
4. Team Collaboration:
· Communicate effectively with healthcare team members.
· Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless patient care and workflow.
· Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and continuing education opportunities.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant program required.
· Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
· Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred.
· Proficiency in medical terminology, basic pharmacology, and anatomy.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· Ability to multitask, prioritize duties, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
· Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
· Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
