Position Summary
As a Building and Program Aide you will work with multiple departments utilizing a variety of skills. This position is well suited to an individual that prefers each workday to be a little different and wants an opportunity to make a positive impact on our community. At times you will need to work by yourself and as part of a team. You will learn from various departments. Potential departments include Transportation, Recreation, Distribution, Children's Programming, Welcome Center, etc.
- Schedule: part-time afternoon/evening position available
- The minimum required shift will be 3:00 PM to the building close (typically M-W about 8:15 PM and TH-F 6:45 PM). Additional hours before 3:00 are available for those interested in additional hours
- Wage: hourly pay based on experience ($13.50-$15)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ride in WMFC Transportation Vehicles and remain alert to engage with children programming participants
- Buckle and unbuckle children into 5-point harnesses. WMFC training will be provided
- Must meet licensing rules of a caregiver (WMFC will help with children programming licensing and training)
- Securing the building at closing time, including locking and checking all doors
- This position will help with events, recreation activities, and rental preparation by setting up/ tearing down tables, chairs, batting cage, gym equipment, etc.
- Help maintain a clean building by assisting in cleaning when needed (example: cleaning the bowling alley after a rental or cleaning a classroom with teachers at the end of the day)
- Checking for hazards/safety concerns when opening or closing sections of the building
- Lead bowling rentals during shift, including: the set-up, showing patrons how it all works, clean up, and any support that is needed during their rental, etc.
- May assist basketball league and score keeping if needed
- If directed, provide bathroom breaks or assistance to other departments such as Children's programming or Welcome Center
- Help develop a calm, pleasant environment in vehicles, classrooms and throughout the center in which children and families feel comfortable and secure
- When engaging with children's programming, guarantee a safe environment by providing constant supervision, appropriate arrangement of space and maintenance of equipment. Mediate conflicts presented by children. Implement and support the discipline system utilized by WMFC. Efficiently redirect inappropriate student behaviors and implement the program discipline system to effectively
- Use of Technology is required to communicate with others using email, phone and portable radios. Daily time tracking is done with a web or phone app.
- Use of Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrate good communication skills and properly relay messages
- Multi-task, including managing multiple phone lines
- This position is part of our internal emergency responder team. This will require you to maintain certifications including both first aid and CPR, bloodborne pathogens training, and help with emergency situations that arise. WMFC offers these training courses on site.
- Notify supervisor(s) of emergency and risky situations or behaviors in a timely manner.
- Follow and implement WMFC health and safety policies. All health and safety information are covered in Orientations, Safety Days, and CPR/First Aid training.

Physical/Mental Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and converse with employees, maintain a stationary position, move/traverse, position self to work in various spaces and positions such as kneeling, bending, or reaching for extended periods of time. The worker may be required to operate in close quarters such as narrow aisles and passageways. The worker may be required to ascend/descend ladders. This position requires the ability to physically transport boxes, bags and buckets of up to 25 pounds. Being able to lift to 65 LBs is desired. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is frequently required to walk and use hands to finger, handle, feel and operate objects, tools, or controls. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and various pieces of equipment. The employee must be able to hear within normal audio range with or without correction. While performing the duties of this job, the individual must be able to regularly move around the office and facility; must be able to work at a desk with office equipment; must be able to communicate with individuals in person and by telephone; must be able to repetitively operate all standard office equipment.
Environment
Work is performed primarily in a standard office, vehicle, recreation, and school site environment. Some outdoor work is required where the employee could occasionally be exposed to wet, cold, snowy and/or humid conditions, heat and/or sun, and/or airborne particles. The noise level is usually quiet in the office, moderate in the field and at events, but can become high in vehicles or program areas where patrons are present. The employee in this position may be exposed to certain hazards as part of their duties, such as cleaning chemicals, dust, animals, insects, driving and working in adverse weather conditions.
