West Monona Community School District is seeking qualified substitute School Bus Drivers to safely transport students to and from school and school-related activities.

- Must hold a valid Iowa Driver’s License
- Must have or be willing to obtain the following endorsements:
- Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Passenger (P) Endorsement
- School Bus (S) Endorsement
- Air Brakes Endorsement
- West Monona CSD will cover the cost of license endorsements, the required online class, and DOT physical
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Holds or is willing to obtain a valid Iowa School Bus Driver Authorization Certificate
- Able to pass a State of Iowa DOT physical examination and pre-employment drug screening
- Must have an acceptable driving record both within and outside the State of Iowa
- Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and regulations
- Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, parents, and fellow employees
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise riders and maintain discipline among passengers
- Communicate positively with students, parents, transportation staff, and school personnel
- Obey all traffic laws and follow established safety procedures
- Report any repair needs or malfunctioning equipment to the Transportation Director
- Keep the bus clean and sanitary
- Maintain a consistent time schedule for assigned routes and report any changes
- Must be able to sit upright in a driver’s position for extended periods
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Transportation Director or School Administration
