- Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and the Business Intelligence team.
- Hire, train, and manage the accounting department, motivating and developing staff while managing schedules and workflow to ensure optimal performance.
- Prepare and monitor monthly audit trails, including reviewing fixed assets, depreciation, trial balance, and general ledger.
- Distribute audited financial statements to vendors as required.
- Prepare and distribute financial statements for all West Music companies.
- Analyze financial trends within key accounts, providing insights and recommendations.
- Oversee the preparation of sales, income, and other tax returns and ensure timely reporting.
- Assist in coordinating the annual financial budget.
- Support and oversee physical inventory counts, ensuring accurate adjustments.
- Manage annual independent audits, bank audits, and any other audits as needed.
- Lead the month-end and annual close of the general ledger and monthly account reconciliations, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Complete and file dealer applications, agreements, and contracts.
- Negotiate and monitor company insurance policies (property/casualty, workers’ compensation) to maintain appropriate coverage.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as GAAP standards.
- Ensure proper functionality of system processes.
- Implement, train, and maintain strict document security procedures.
- Maintain processes for financial closings and perform closing procedures as necessary.
- Provide backup for accounting duties as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong computer skills.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to be insured as a driver of West Music vehicles.
- Data & Analytics: Strong ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to inform decision-making.
- Fiscal Management: Expertise in tracking investments, outcomes, and their impact on the bottom line.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on improving and optimizing processes for greater effectiveness.
- Tenacity: Persistent in driving projects and tasks to completion.
- Collaborative Communication: Effective in developing relationships across teams and divisions, with a focus on teamwork and performance.
