Job Details:
Full-time property/casualty field position.
This position supports the goal of delivering exceptional claim service to customers while ensuring the carriers expectations and guidelines are met.
Job Level Summary:
- Requires working knowledge and experience in property and casualty adjusting.
- Continues to build knowledge of the industry and processes involved in property and casualty insurance adjusting.
- Performs a range of property, auto, and liability assignments.
- Uses prescribed guidelines and policies in daily work situations established by the carrier.
- Knowledge in preparing estimates with Xactimate and/or Symbility.
- Knowledge in preparing auto estimates with Mitchell Estimating System.
Primary Accountabilities:
- Handles 1st and 3rd party claims under multiple companies, policies, and endorsements.
- Investigates cause and origin of losses by collaborating with appropriate parties which would include insureds, claimants, insurance agents, contractors, shops, and insurance companies’ staff and experts.
- Conducts on-site inspections, evaluates damages, and handles claim negotiations.
- Identifies complex issues and seeks direction from insurance companies.
- Responds to company requests, makes appropriate decisions, and closes files in a timely manner.
- Interprets and determines policies, endorsements, coverages.
- Proactively provides all parties with claim process and status as appropriate.
Specialized Knowledge & Skill Requirement:
- Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
- Demonstrated experience handling 1stand 3rdparty, multi-line claims, throughout the operating territories.
- Demonstrated experience handling moderately complex claims.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of policies and endorsements related to coverages.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of the claim handling process.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional time management skills. Individual will be required to manage and handle their own workload.
Education & Licenses
- Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
- State specific claims licensing as required per state.
Working Conditions
- Position requires the ability to set up and climb a ladder for roof inspections.
- Position requires the ability to work with exposure to outside weather conditions.
- Travel within assigned work territory. Willingness to help outside work territory with limited overnight stay.
