What are the responsibilities and job description for the WNE 2nd Shift Custodian position at West Noble School Corporation?
Primary Responsibility:
To maintain the assigned building in a safe, comfortable, and clean condition – ready for school or activities the following day.
Qualifications:
Must be 21 years of age. High school diploma, able to lift 50 lbs. and be physically able to remain on your feet for up to three hours at a time.
Chain of Command:
Reports to the head custodian. Evaluated by the head custodian with input from the building principal.
Performance Responsibilities:
a. Performs cleaning and janitorial duties in assigned classrooms and public areas.
b. Assists in the replacement of HVAC filters in assigned areas.
c. Completes miscellaneous repairs to the building and equipment.
d. Paints hallways, classrooms, and other areas as directed.
e. Maintains custodial supply closets and equipment.
f. Assists in maintaining a proper inventory of cleaning supplies.
g. Identifies maintenance issues and completes necessary work orders.
h. Assembles furniture and equipment.
i. Assists in a variety of set-ups and teardowns for extra-curricular events.
j. Assists in the maintenance of landscaping and grounds as requested.
k. Accepts and signs for large deliveries made to the building.
l. Assists in monitoring building safety and security. Secures building before leaving.
m. Change light bulbs and filters as needed.
n. Other duties as assigned by the head custodian/building principal/maintenance director.
Terms of Employment:
Length of contract, salary, working conditions, and specific hours of employment are per the current Classified Employee Benefit Handbook.
Beginning pay of $16/hr. Contract for 260 paid days, including vacation and holidays. Custodians also receive an annual $350.00 uniform allowance.
