What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Associate/Driver position at West Ohio Food Bank?
Summary:
The Warehouse Associate primarily supports all aspects of warehouse product care including receiving, storage, and distribution. The Warehouse Associate is also responsible for working in conjunction and overseeing the American Institute of Baking (AIB) compliance requirements on a daily basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspection/preventative maintenance program of all warehouse equipment as assigned and required. Complete a daily inspection form checking for mechanical and safety issues and reporting any deficiencies to the Warehouse Manager or designee, and ensure timely preventative maintenance as required.
- Ensure all products are secured properly in agency vehicles and/or trucks and compliant with all safety requirements.
- Provide excellent customer service to WOFB's donors and partner agencies.
- Accurately and efficiently fill, stage, and load agency orders.
- Store weighed/recorded product in the proper area, put pallet tags on all products as required, and ensure the First in First Out (FIFO) method is used.
- Work with the Programs Director and Program Coordinator on compliance issues or concerns with partner agencies and/or their orders.
- Work with the Warehouse Team to maintain food safety, pest control, and inventory control standards.
- Comply with safety policies and programs developed for warehouse operations.
- Support and work with volunteer(s) assigned to you as requested.
- Support efforts to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly food bank.
- Perform the timely, safe, and efficient pick-up and delivery of WOFB products as needed.
- Ensure the warehouse dry, cooler and freezer areas are orderly and organized on a daily basis removing any and all trash/debris from these areas and ensure that pest control devices are not blocked so they can be monitored.
- Clean and operate the cardboard baler daily and correcting minor maintenance issues (if requested).
- Clean the agency pick-up area daily and complete the checklist in the AIB manual.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following all company, AIB, Feeding America, the Ohio Association of Foodbanks, OSHA, and other oversight entity agency policies and federal safety regulations.
- Perform any other duties/responsibilities that may be requested by the CEO and/or designee and West Ohio Food Bank.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience
- Warehouse Experience
- Cargo van, pick-up truck driving experience
- Box Truck driving experience (preferred)
- Possession of a valid Ohio Motor Vehicle license with no moving violations and insurable.
- Ability to operate (but not limited to) manual pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, stand up lift, fork lift.
- Proven ability to work steadily and independently with minimum supervision.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures.
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.)
- Ability to read, add, subtract, multiply and divide units of weight.
- Excellent organization, project management, and time management skills with attention to detail and follow through.
- Customer focused philosophy and proven ability to prioritize, plan and manage multiple tasks and agendas.
- Ability to withhold confidential matters pertaining to WOFB from external stakeholders.
- Excellent relationship building skills with an ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to pass an alcohol/drug screening and background check at hire and randomly throughout the year.
- Successfully pass and maintain ServSafe certification.
- Advanced Microsoft Office/Excel experience required.
