Summary:

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the overall coordination of West Ohio Food Bank's (WOFB) warehouse operations. The Warehouse Manager is responsible for local, state, and federal reporting. Ensuring all warehouse operations are in alignment with the American Insititute of Baking (AIB), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Ohio Department of Job & Family Services (ODJFS), Feeding America (FA), Ohio Association of Foodbanks (OAF), and any other oversight organizations WOFB is responsible for reporting to.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Include the Following (other duties may be assigned):

Managerial Oversight Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policy and applicable laws.
  • Design & implement a system to provide performance metrics for areas of operations in partnership with the CEO & COO.
  • Understand and provide input of the warehouse budget.
  • Support effective inventory control methods through direct oversight of Inventory Controller to ensure monthly cycle counts and year-end inventory of all products received and distributed.
  • Support effective inventory control methods to ensure monthly cycle counts and year-end inventory of all products received and distributed are conducted, counting accuracy, proper storage, labeling, effective rotation, shelf-life monitoring, timely distribution of product, minimized shrinking, shipping, receiving, and reporting accuracy.
  • Provide required documentation to auditors for end of the year auditing purposes.
  • Ensure First in First Out (FIFO) methodology is used throughout the warehouse.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of food distribution and warehouse areas.
  • Assist in the development of annual department work plans, goals, objectives, reporting and performance measurements, in cooperation with the CEO and COO.
  • Train the warehouse staff in best practices for compliance with AIB & Occupational Health & Safety Administration (OSHA).
  • Crosstrain for all warehouse positions for PTO coverage.
  • Work with the Warehouse staff to maintain AIB compliance.
  • Meet with warehouse and logistics staff daily to discuss work plan and establish priorities.
  • Participate in special projects as requested.
  • Participate in all inspection processes and develop a corrective action plan, with approval from the CEO. Implement corrective action plans in coordination with approved vendors and CEO.
  • Active participation in staff meetings.
  • Work in conjunction with the PR & Communications Manager to schedule delivery and pick up of all food drive barrel and collections.
  • Strictly adhere to and enforce all safety rules.
  • Ability to withhold confidential matters pertaining to WOFB from external stakeholders.
  • Follow and enforce all policies and procedures of WOFB.
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following safety practices and policies stated in AIB policy and procedures manuals.

Programmatic, Administrative, and Reporting Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to accomplish organizational goals, policies and procedures.
  • Lead safety planning efforts by scheduling, coordinating, and meeting at minimum monthly with the safety committee ensuring AIB compliance.
  • Manage any after-hour donation referrals and receipts.
  • Responsible for monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual reporting including but not limited to; USDA, OFP, ACP, store reports, blue receipts, monthly poundage report, quarterly poundage report, network activity report, and any others that are required to be completed.
  • Enter all donation receipts into the system received at WOFB.
  • Perform other duties/responsibilities that may be requested by the CEO or designee.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience; minimum 4-6 years' experience working in a warehouse and/or product distribution center; supervisory capacity as a Warehouse Manager or similar level of leadership responsibility.

  • Certification to operate motorized forklift or willingness and ability to obtain certification.
  • Excellent organization, project management, and time management skills with attention to detail and follow through.
  • Customer focused philosophy and proven ability to prioritize, plan and manage multiple tasks and agendas.
  • Excellent relationship building sills with an ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in areas of strategic planning, programs, operations, and public policy.
  • Ability to effectively manage numerous projects simultaneously and work independently.
  • Ability to withhold confidential matters pertaining to WOFB from external stakeholders.
  • Ability to build relationships with donors and professional organizations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate required standards in a style of coaching and support.
  • Ability to work well with other staff in a collaborative effort to improve efficiencies and effectiveness of the organization.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial and statistical data and develop appropriate program and budget frameworks.
  • Willingness to travel and possession of a valid Ohio motor vehicle license with no moving violations and be insurable.
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.).
  • Ability to successfully pass alcohol/drug screening and background checks at hire and randomly as required throughout the year.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office/Excel experience required.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
