Job Description

The Manager of Development will assist the Chief Executive Officer with the Library Foundation’s annual fundraising plan with a focus on securing ongoing and increased support from businesses, corporations, public and private organizations and individuals.

Acquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of the Foundation’s policies, principles, and strategies, and keep up to date with relevant developments. Work with key internal role-players to brainstorm content ideas, in line with the Foundation’s strategy and in support of various brand initiatives.

Qualifications

The Manager of Development position requires a minimum of 5 years working in fundraising, a bachelor’s degree in development, communications, or related field; the ideal candidate should have work experience with:

• Grant Writing
• Major Gift Fundraising
• Special Event Fundraising
• Strong Writing, to include, but not limited to donor appeal letters, social media campaigns, grant writing, collateral material related to fundraising.
• Organizational skills
• Time management
• Experience with donor database software (preferably NonProfitCore)
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Job Type: Full-time (40 hours a week)

Work Location: Office in WPB

Salary is commensurate with experience.

About the foundation

The West Palm Beach Library Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that is independent from the City of West Palm Beach and was formed to support the Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach.

The Library Foundation’s focus is to acquire and administer funds to enrich Library services and facilities not met by public funding and to endow the Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach for future generations. The Foundation pursues this by seeking philanthropic support, providing conscientious stewardship of the assets in its care, encouraging community partnerships where appropriate, and by advocating on behalf of the Library’s mission in our community.
