Job Summary:
West Penn Energy Services LLC is seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Facility Construction Laborer to join our team on a full-time, long-term basis. This role supports the construction, maintenance, and repair of natural gas facilities, including compressor stations, meter stations, and related infrastructure. The position will be based in the Pennsylvania region but requires overnight travel while on projects. The ideal candidate will have construction experience, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the construction and maintenance of natural gas facilities, including foundation work, structural assembly, piping installation, and general labor tasks.
- Operate and maintain hand and power tools such as grinders, saws, drills, and pneumatic tools.
- Perform physically demanding tasks such as shoveling, lifting, carrying materials, and site cleanup.
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment at job sites.
- Follow company and regulatory safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and boots.
- Assist with site preparation and restoration, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Take direction from supervisors and collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently and on schedule.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Supervisor or Project Manager.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in facility construction, industrial construction, pipeline work, or similar environments (preferred).
- Proficiency in operating hand and power tools.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and move materials up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to work in confined spaces, trenches, and at varying heights.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to company policies.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Willingness to travel overnight for extended periods while on a project.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Experience operating heavy equipment (e.g., forklifts, skid steers, backhoes) is a plus.
- Certifications in safety training (e.g., OSHA 10/30, confined space entry) (preferred).
Working Conditions:
- Outdoor and industrial work environments in diverse weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
- Remote job site work, including overnight travel during projects.
- Physically demanding tasks, such as lifting, climbing, digging, and tool operation.
- Extended hours and overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, climb, and crouch for extended periods.
