Job Title: Pipeline Laborer

Job Summary:
West Penn Energy Services LLC is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Pipeline Laborer for an upcoming project in Cameron, WV, beginning in late Spring and running through the Fall. This is a project-based position with the opportunity to transition to future projects based on performance and business needs. The role involves supporting the installation, maintenance, and repair of natural gas pipelines and related facilities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in construction, a strong work ethic, and a dedication to safety standards. Coating experience is preferred to help ensure the quality and integrity of pipeline projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of natural gas pipelines, including pipefitting, trenching, backfilling, and coating pipelines.
- Operate and maintain hand and power tools (e.g., pipe cutters, wrenches, grinders) safely and efficiently.
- Perform physically demanding tasks, including shoveling, lifting, and carrying materials.
- Support the loading and unloading of equipment, materials, and supplies at job sites.
- Follow company and regulatory safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and boots.
- Prepare and clean job sites, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards.
- Take direction from supervisors and collaborate with team members to complete tasks effectively and on schedule.
- Conduct basic quality control checks to ensure pipeline and coating integrity.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Supervisor or Project Manager.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in pipeline construction, oil and gas, or a similar construction environment (preferred).
- Experience with pipeline coating application (preferred).
- Proficiency in operating hand and power tools.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and move materials up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to work in confined spaces, trenches, and at varying heights.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to company protocols.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Willingness to travel to job sites and work overtime when needed.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
- Experience operating heavy equipment (e.g., excavators, backhoes, skid steers) is a plus.
- Certifications in safety training (e.g., OSHA 10/30, pipeline safety certifications) (preferred).
Working Conditions:
- Outdoor work in diverse weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
- Remote job site work, including potential overnight travel.
- Physically demanding tasks, such as lifting, climbing, digging, and tool operation.
- Extended hours and overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, climb, and crouch for extended periods.
