Job Description:

As a Swamper, you will assist with various field tasks, primarily focusing on supporting truck drivers with loading and unloading equipment, rigging, and ensuring safe transport of materials. This role requires physical stamina, adaptability, and a willingness to work long hours during peak projects, often out of town with no set hours.

General Responsibilities:

• Assist Drivers: Help truck drivers with loading, unloading, and securing loads, ensuring all cargo is safely and properly handled.
• Rigging: Perform rigging tasks, including attaching and detaching loads to cranes or other lifting devices.
• Equipment Handling: Safely handle various types of equipment and tools used in field operations.
• Site Preparation: Prepare job sites for operations, including clearing debris, setting up equipment, and ensuring a safe working environment.
• Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance and inspections on equipment and vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of yourself and others on the job site.
• Communication: Effectively communicate with team members, supervisors, and drivers to coordinate tasks and ensure efficient operations.
• Adaptability: Be prepared to work flexible hours, including 10-14 hour days, and travel out of town frequently during peak projects.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Previous experience in a similar role in the oil and gas industry preferred.
• Skills: Proficient in using hand and power tools, and basic rigging techniques.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy objects, for extended periods.
• Safety Knowledge: Understanding of safety procedures and protocols relevant to field operations.
• Communication: Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Work Environment: Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments, including dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes.
• Travel: Willingness to travel extensively and work long hours with no set schedule during peak project periods.
