Position: Application Support Specialist Building: Secondary Campus
Reports to: Director of Technology Assignment: 245 Days – 7.5 hours/day
Qualifications: Excellent interpersonal, customer service and written communication skills required. Experience supporting Windows and Chrome OS and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel preferred) required. Experience with educational software and applications, including PIMS, student information systems (SIS), and data warehouses. Analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to learn and understand technical information required. Technical troubleshooting skills with focus on front-end and back-end technologies of web-based applications. Ability to problem-solve independently and as part of a team. Previous experience with educational software and programs preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associate’s degree preferred.
Job Summary: To provide superior technical support for West Perry School district users for a wide variety of applications used for educational and administrative operations. Perform other related duties as assigned.
POSITION FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Log all support issues in helpdesk software, resolve received helpdesk tickets and provide regular reports on ticket queue.
- Provide support to district staff on a variety of applications used for productivity, operational or educational purposes.
- Develop and provide training to staff/users for supported applications.
- Assist in supporting data integration between student information system and other related database applications.
- Assist students with basic troubleshooting for learning management system and other educational applications.
- Create and document processes for resolving common issues.
- Develop strategies to improve existing processes and procedures to streamline and expedite issue resolution of supported applications.
- Work closely with other staff within IT to implement and support effective technology solutions.
- Assist other staff on IT projects as requested to meet the needs of the technology department.
- Engage in continuous learning for supported applications, leveraging application knowledgebase and self-paced training materials.
- Maintain confidentiality with regard to all information being processed, stored or otherwise accessed.
- Assist in developing and implementing the District’s short and long-term technology goals.
- Assume any other responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent, Director of Technology or designee.
